I was walking in the forest when I stumbled across some icicles hanging from a common juniper (Juniperus communis) branch. Might not be the most exciting thing to photograph, but I really enjoy the small details in nature, that make you stop in your tracks to make a closer look.

It was pretty hard to focus because there is so little light at the moment, hence the long exposure.

  1. Reminds me of where I grew up in New Hampshire. We had a lot of juniper bushes and icicles, though I don’t remember ever seeing such a combination. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Its a lovely shot and its cool that you get to just stroll through the forest and stumble across things like this.

I would probably stumble across some plastic bags and beer cans dumped ๐Ÿ™‚
