Portrait picture of rooster (Gallus gallus domesticus) – Our handsome male chicken

Our rooster (Gallus gallus domesticus) is a handsome fellow that likes to show us who is the boss in the “flock” is. He takes the role as a protector of the hens very serious and can sometimes be pretty aggressive towards people.

In between crows I was able to take a portrait picture of him while he was posing on some rails. I advise you to click on the picture to look at our beautiful rooster in full size.

Even though the rooster can be aggressive it will protect our hens against dangers such as cats, foxes and hopefully against attacks from hawks. Daily our hens give us tasteful eggs which would be a pity to lose.

Here is a also a picture of the whole rooster:

Harbour Porpoise (Phocoena phocoena) is one of the smallest mammals living in the sea.
In this picture you can see two Harbour Porpoise swimming very close to my boat when I was out fishing last summer. They got a bad reputation of scaring the fish away so I wasn’t too happy to see the small whales.

The Harbour Porpoise can be very fascinating to observe when they hunt for fish as they swim extremely fast and make loud breathing noises when they come to the surface for a short moment. The whales can also be very curious animals (especially the young Harbour Porpoise) and can approach boats. I have several times experienced Harbour Porpoise swimming around and under my boat like some playful dolphins.
Hope I will never experience a porpoise getting caught on my fishing tackle. That would be some some ride! 😉

In this photo you can see some cows grazing under snowy mountains. A scene like this is very national romantic here in Norway and thus I wanted to create an antique look in this photo.

Used some filters in light room and photoshop for the effects.
