Picture of Norway maple leaves (Acer platanoides) with fall / autumn colors

Picture of Norway maple leaves (Acer platanoides) with fall / autumn colors
Taken with Olympus E500 digital camera October 19th 2008. Click image for larger view.
In this picture you can see some Norway maple (Acer platanoides) leaves that I photographed this autumn. I really like the shape of maple leaves and with autumn colors they can be a stunning sight. The sun were shining through the tree tops unto the leaves so I just had to take a picture of them.
The autumn colors are almost gone now so it is nice to able to look some pictures and remember how nice it was.
The Norway maple is the only type of maple tree that is native to Norway. The maple trees grow in the southern part of Norway where the climate is a bit warmer.

Check out my other photo from the same trip of the forest floor covered with leaves and my other autumn pictures here. Note: This photo was taken in the southeastern part of Norway.

Macro picture of Meadow buttercup flower (Ranunculus acris) covered with rime frost
Taken with Olympus E500 digital camera October 14th 2008. Click image for larger view.
The winter is getting closer here in Norway and some nights have been below the freezing point. If you get up early before the sun starts to warm up the place you can discover that the landscape is covered with rime (frost).
Here I have photographed a Meadow buttercup flower (Ranunculus acris) that was covered with rime and I think it looks quite beautiful.
The Meadow buttercup flower is probably one of the last flowers I will be able to photograph in the wild this year, but the dark seasons will hopefully bring many photo opportunities too.

Check out this picture that I have taken laying down in a buttercup field in the beginning of summer.

I love the short period when every dandelion plant seems to flower at the exact same time. A field full of yellow flowers on a sunny day is a beautiful sight so I could not resist taking out the camera to snap some pictures. Since I’m a big fan of photographing boatsheds I had to make a composition with a shed in the picture.
As you can see there is still some snow in the mountains here in Northern Norway, but the green color is creeping pretty fast upward to the top of the mountains. Maybe it is time to go for a photo-hike up those mountainsides?

Check out a few shots of grass fields from last summer:

Picture of wood anemone (nemorosa) flower with purple primula flowers as background

Picture of wood anemone (nemorosa flower) with purple primula flowers as background
Taken with Olympus E500 digital camera May 31st 2008. Click image for larger view.
In this picture I have photographed a wood anemone flower (anemone nemorosa) with some purple primula flowers as background. I loved the contrast with the sun shining on the white wood anemone flower and the the primula flowers in the shadow. These beautiful small flowers are also known as windflower, European thimbleweed and smell fox.

The wood anemone flowers is a sure sign that the spring is here and that summer is right around the corner.
Flowers are popping up everywhere now so expect more pictures of flowers from Northern Norway in the near future. You can also check out my previous pictures of flowers here.
