Here is a selection of my personal favorite midnight sun pictures that I photographed during the summer 2007. The season for midnight sun is closing very fast so stay tuned for more midnight sun photos and you can buy the 2009 Norway photo calendar with some of the pictures.

In this photo you can see sunbeams coming up from a mountain. It is the only time I have seen sunbeams shine the “wrong” way and I was wondering what was hiding behind those mountains.
As you can see by all the snow in the mountain, this picture was taken back in January (actually 3 days after I got my sweet camera) and at this time of the year we have no sun up here in northern Norway.

The days are not totally dark (referred to as Polar night) as we have twilight in the middle of the day, but the sun is gone for several months.
When the sun comes back in the end of January we use to celebrate and think about warmer times that includes midnight sun.

Do you think you could live in a place where there is no sunshine for several months?

In this photo you can see typical coast landscape in northern Norway with the seawall and mountains sticking up from the ocean.
I love the way the sunbeams come out of the clouds and make the special light against the mountains. There is even some small patches of last years snow in the mountains.

We had a fantastic sunset today so I had to run down on the beach to capture a picture of the moment.
Been a very hot and nice summer day so this sunset was a perfect end to it.
I’m painting the outside of a house so the warmth can get a little too much, but I’m glad I can work outside and not be stuck in an office or something ;)

Found this view of sunbeams over the ocean to be very beautiful so had to take a picture. Love the way the sunrays comes out of the clouds.
Maybe something divine is hiding behind the clouds?
