In this picture you can see the optical phenomenon called Fata Morgana, on the coast in Northern Norway. Please click the image to get a larger view of the phenomenon. Notice how the coast (especially the small island on the left) is “miraged”. The phenomenon is a result of differences in temperature.
You can read more about Fata Morgana in this article on Wikipedia.
Check out this picture from last winter where the Fata Morgana phenomenon also appears.

Very cool shot 🙂
I almost made it to Norway this year for business, but the trip was canceled. Your photos are quite beautiful… hopefully I will see Norway in person someday.
Very cool shot Thomas, neat view of the mirage, great work.
Because of your picture, it made me think how Norway is so beautiful.
You are showing us the beauty of Norway.
Great job!
That’s just fabulous, Thomas. Must have been tricky to capture.
That’s so crazy, it looks more real than real. Some truly awesome photography here.
Thomas! You impress me – again!
Superb lighting effects!
