Picture of lighthouse on a snow covered headland in Norway
Taken with Olympus E500 digital camera February 8th 2009. Click image for larger view.
Here I have photographed a lighthouse on a snow covered headland. This lighthouse is placed in Oslofjorden in southeastern part of Norway and help with keeping the ship traffic in the fjord safe.
I liked the lonely location of the lighthouse and the other buildings on the headland. Doesn’t it look like a great place to live?
The photo was taken with at 300mm (about 600mm in 35mm terms) with a telephoto lens so it was pretty far away from my location.

Check out my other picture of a wave crashing over a small headland in Northern Norway.

Information about the picture:
Camera: Olympus E-500 digital SLR camera
Exposure: 0.002 sec (1/500)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 300 mm
ISO Speed: 200
Lens: Olympus Zuiko Digital 70-300mm F4.0-5.6
Location: Fjellstrand in Nesodden, Akershus in southeast of Norway

It was good to see your image as this summer I headed on the ferry to Oslo from Denmark.

I have a picture of the same lighthouse but from another angle and I like the snow on the land

Oh, how idyllic…yes, I would love to live there. I imagine the only sounds would be the sea, wind and birds. And of course the occasional ship horn. Beautiful photo!

Great picture! I saw that light house when I was at Oslo fjord yesterday and made a post about boats in hibernation at Frognerkilen 🙂

That looks REALLY isolated – the lighthouse keeper must like the quiet!

Hi Thomas! I love lighthouse pictures. The snow white color is nice. Be sure to stop by my Montauk blog this summer. Im going to take at least 100 more pictures and video. This time on a clear sunny day.

I like this photo a lot although the lighthouse almost looks a little lonely. It is a great contrast between the jetty and the sea.

Thats just simply a beautifull photograph. I love how it seems so isolated from everythig else, this is due to the long telephoto lense.

Cheaky question but could you add my photo blog to your blogroll. Its called Photo Fingers and I update it weekly. I will of course link back to you. Thanks

It almost looks like a toy village. I’m amazed at the range of environments in which human beings can live!
