Row of boatsheds


These boathouses are very typical to Norway. They were often painted in red because that was the cheapest color. Most living houses were painted white because that was the most expensive color.

The boatsheds tell a story about the past in northern Norway when fishing was the most important living.
Many people died on the sea while trying to make an income.
