In this picture I believe you can see some five-spot burnets (Zygaena trifolii) mating, but it could also be the similar six-spot burnet (Zygaena filipendulae) because the spots can be merged. If anyone is an expert on this please let me know by leaving a comment. I would also like to know what the flowers are called.

Anyways. It looks like the insects are having a really good time 😉

Pictures from a mountain trip filled with fog

These photos are from a trekking trip up in the mountains a few days ago. I saw some fog coming in from the Atlantic ocean and wanted to get high up in the mountains to get some pictures of the mountains above the fog. Arriving I found out that the fog was covering everything including the mountain peaks. The fog made the scenery looking very mystic so I had to take some photos inside the fog.

Here is a picture from a small valley filled with fog as the fog comes rolling in with the wind. This is at the highest altitude trees grow so this is the last trees you see when you trek the mountain.

Coming down from the peak the fog was even thicker. I was glad that I found my way down.

I love walking the beach at midnight when it is summer. Everything is calm and all you can hear is the sound of the nature; sea gulls crying, waves rolling the beach and the sound of your feet walking the sand. Walks on the beach are soothing for my mind, body and spirit. I recommend it!

This photo was taken with my new sweet wide angle lens. So far this lens is threating me very good 🙂

Macro photo of sawfly eating an insect

Macro photo of sawfly eating an insect

This is some kind of sawfly (Symphyta) feeding on a fly. Please let me know if anyone know the species.

I captured this the same day as I took the photos of two dance fly mating and eating. Check out that blog post here. Macro photographing is so entertaining because you get to see real drama in the world of insects.

Feel free to check out my other insect photos.
